Biography
Dr. Risal is MD in Psychiatry and PhD from the Norwegian University of science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. His PhD research estimated national prevalence of anxiety and depression in Nepal and their comorbidities with headache disorders. Currently, he is working in the field of geriatric depression. He has many scientific research articles published in the national and international peer-reviewed journals; in 16 articles, he is the first/ corresponding author. He also writes columns in the national media (English and Nepali daily newspapers, monthly magazines etc.), with the purpose of raising public awareness on mental health issues and stigma eradication
